About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work in support of various utility-sponsored programs that encourage energy efficiency in the commercial and industrial markets
Responsible for identifying and recruiting customer participation within energy efficiency programs
Develop a data-driven outreach strategy to recruit and retain new and existing customers
Prospect, identify, and qualify potential energy efficiency upgrades for customers
Increase customer awareness of financial benefits from implementing energy conservation measures
Cultivate and develop new business through long-term relationships with professional organizations and trade allies
Maintain knowledge of state and federal funding programs
Track state/local and national energy policies

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, Finance, or related field and 2+ years of industry experience OR High School Diploma and 6+ years of industry experience
1+ year of outside sales or business development experience
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
Proven success in outside sales or business development
Strong follow-up and closing skills
Energy efficiency background with knowledge of building mechanical systems or commercial lighting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Dynamics, Word, Outlook, Excel)
Experience with economic analysis and DSM program planning
Utility experience and understanding of DSM program implementation
Experience with ENERGY STAR, LEED, or similar programs
