About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work in support of various utility-sponsored programs that encourage energy efficiency in the commercial and industrial markets
- Responsible for identifying and recruiting customer participation within energy efficiency programs
- Develop a data-driven outreach strategy to recruit and retain new and existing customers
- Prospect, identify, and qualify potential energy efficiency upgrades for customers
- Increase customer awareness of financial benefits from implementing energy conservation measures
- Cultivate and develop new business through long-term relationships with professional organizations and trade allies
- Maintain knowledge of state and federal funding programs
- Track state/local and national energy policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, Finance, or related field and 2+ years of industry experience OR High School Diploma and 6+ years of industry experience
- 1+ year of outside sales or business development experience
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
- Proven success in outside sales or business development
- Strong follow-up and closing skills
- Energy efficiency background with knowledge of building mechanical systems or commercial lighting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Dynamics, Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Experience with economic analysis and DSM program planning
- Utility experience and understanding of DSM program implementation
- Experience with ENERGY STAR, LEED, or similar programs
