About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain strong, collegial relationships with state education agencies (SEAs) and other clients
- Conduct needs assessments and technical assistance that clearly addresses client needs
- Monitor and course correct technical assistance as needed
- Coordinate with project evaluators to curate evidence
- Liaise with clients and lead TA teams to ensure high-quality services
Requirements
What you’ll need- Doctorate in education, social sciences, public administration, or related subjects
- 10+ years of experience at the state and/or national level working with K-12 education policies, regulations, and systems
- 10+ years of experience developing and delivering technical assistance to state and district educators and leaders
- 10+ years of conducting needs assessments and developing technical assistance
- 10+ years developing high quality technical assistance materials, including information briefs, white papers, tools, presentations, and processes
- 1+ years of experience working with multiple states in the region (VA, TN, KY, or WV) developing and implementing initiatives
- 5+ years of experience directing or managing large-scale federal grants or contracts
- 3+ years of managing teams of up to 40 including SUBs with personnel management responsibilities
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Project management skills, including managing complex budgets, federal reporting, staff management, and continuous improvement
