About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain strong, collegial relationships with state education agencies (SEAs) and other clients
  • Conduct needs assessments and technical assistance that clearly addresses client needs
  • Monitor and course correct technical assistance as needed
  • Coordinate with project evaluators to curate evidence
  • Liaise with clients and lead TA teams to ensure high-quality services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Doctorate in education, social sciences, public administration, or related subjects
  • 10+ years of experience at the state and/or national level working with K-12 education policies, regulations, and systems
  • 10+ years of experience developing and delivering technical assistance to state and district educators and leaders
  • 10+ years of conducting needs assessments and developing technical assistance
  • 10+ years developing high quality technical assistance materials, including information briefs, white papers, tools, presentations, and processes
  • 1+ years of experience working with multiple states in the region (VA, TN, KY, or WV) developing and implementing initiatives
  • 5+ years of experience directing or managing large-scale federal grants or contracts
  • 3+ years of managing teams of up to 40 including SUBs with personnel management responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Project management skills, including managing complex budgets, federal reporting, staff management, and continuous improvement
