About the role
- Coordinate, plan, and execute high-impact public engagement events across the country supporting the Navy’s community-based initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with senior Navy leadership and communications staff to ensure seamless event logistics and strategic media engagement.
- Develop and manage event schedules and logistics; create and deliver comprehensive event materials, including trip books and briefing documents for senior participants.
- Facilitate on-site event execution, including introductions, coordination, and real-time communication; provide on-site support during engagements with community leaders, stakeholders, and media.
- Assist in the development of media engagement strategies and coordinate high-level engagements across civic, government, education, media, and public sectors.
- Contribute to post-event reporting, including after-action summaries and recommendations for future improvements; support administrative, outreach, and logistical needs for requested Navy events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- 4 or more years of experience in event planning, communications, and public engagement.
- Experience supporting government or community outreach programs (preferred).
- Professional event planning credentials (CGMP, CMP, or similar) strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-visibility environments.
- Professional demeanor and ability to interface with senior executives and public stakeholders.
- Must be based in the United States; employer monitors employee work locations, blocks access from foreign locations/foreign IP addresses, and prohibits personal VPN connections.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20–25% annually and work flexible hours during events.
