About the role
- Responsible for interfacing with other engineers in the preparation of computer-based models and performing power system studies on utility distribution systems
- Participate in both internal and external client meetings
- System modeling, such as steady-state load flows (CYME, Synergi, Windmil, ETAP, SKM etc.)
- System reliability and resiliency planning studies
- Distribution system circuit analysis for loading, voltage, reactive power, contingency, coordination, and reliability
- New load and generation interconnection studies
- Recommends solutions and best practices for standard and non-standard situations
- Perform detailed engineering analyses following standard methodology, criteria, and principles
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET certified college or university
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering system studies
- 4+ years of experience using power flow analysis software such as CYME, Synergi, Windmil, ETAP, or other equivalent software packages
- 4+ years of experience with planning, studies, and operations such as hosting capacity analysis, contingency analysis, long term capital investment studies, and model validation
- Prior experience working with or within electric utilities
