About the role

  • Responsible for interfacing with other engineers in the preparation of computer-based models and performing power system studies on utility distribution systems
  • Participate in both internal and external client meetings
  • System modeling, such as steady-state load flows (CYME, Synergi, Windmil, ETAP, SKM etc.)
  • System reliability and resiliency planning studies
  • Distribution system circuit analysis for loading, voltage, reactive power, contingency, coordination, and reliability
  • New load and generation interconnection studies
  • Recommends solutions and best practices for standard and non-standard situations
  • Perform detailed engineering analyses following standard methodology, criteria, and principles

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET certified college or university
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering system studies
  • 4+ years of experience using power flow analysis software such as CYME, Synergi, Windmil, ETAP, or other equivalent software packages
  • 4+ years of experience with planning, studies, and operations such as hosting capacity analysis, contingency analysis, long term capital investment studies, and model validation
  • Prior experience working with or within electric utilities
