About the role
- Provide engineering-level review of RFPs, proposals, and draft scopes of work prior to contract finalization.
- Develop data dictionaries and data quality management plans (DQMP) and communicate technical requirements to the team.
- Implement pavement management systems (PMS) and support clients standing up or maintaining systems (AgileAssets, dTIMS, Cartegraph, Streetlogix, StreetSaver, PAVER, Lucity, Easy Street Analysis).
- Conduct high-level pavement analysis, create budget planning strategies in various software environments, and ensure quality of reports and recommendations.
- Engage with municipal, county, and DOT clients to assess practices and recommend improvements to treatments, planning, optimization, and quality control.
- Prepare and review deliverables and technical project reports, and provide guidance on best engineering practices to the consulting team.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance to lower-level engineers.
- Communicate with executive management regarding project issues, provide proactive solutions, and oversee process documentation and improvement.
- Contribute technical input to sales and marketing initiatives and participate in shortlist presentations and client meetings as required.
Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in civil engineering, with demonstrated coursework in pavement or materials.
- 10 years minimum experience in engineering roles, ideally in pavement engineering.
- Currently possesses a Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- Demonstrated experience in a management or leadership role.
- Project management experience is preferred.
- Background in evaluating pavement performance and right-of-way assets.
- Expertise with Word, Excel, Access, SQL, and GIS/GPS.
- Python skills would be an asset.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines.
- Must be flexible with work hours according to business needs.
- Must have good internet connectivity and a distraction-free environment for working at home.
- May be occasionally required to travel.
