About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide leadership to claims staff handling general liability and commercial auto litigated and non-litigated claims
- Lead organizational change, develop and empower staff, cultivate relationships, and build effective teams
- Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring team and individual work activities
- Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of service
- Evaluate employee performance and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action
- Travel as needed to attend meetings, mediations, court hearings, and other events
- Supervise 6–8 claims adjusters
- Conduct and/or assist with timely quality assurance reviews to ensure adherence to Best Practices
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant claims experience or equivalent
- Equivalent pathway requires 9+ years of relevant customer service experience, including 5 years of claims experience
- License with home state that is reciprocal
- Relevant claims experience in commercial auto
- 3+ years of management/leadership experience
- Ability to understand and utilize data
- Experience managing remote employees
- Negotiation experience
- Strong coverage experience
- Experience identifying fraud elements and recovery opportunities
- Ability to travel
- Experience managing employees in other locations
- Authorized to work in the United States and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Trucking claims experience preferred
- Insurance designations such as AIC, ARM, or CPCU preferred
