About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the successful management of the commercial surety business in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas
- Establish and implement short- and long-range regional goals and objectives
- Manage the performance and development of regional staff
- Prepare and present annual budget for Regional Office
- Establish and manage department expenses and budget
- Drive regional initiatives and business strategies
- Coach, lead and develop underwriters and participate in underwriting training development
- Manage the regional agency plant to ensure positive and profitable outcomes
- Make timely and prudent decisions within submission timeframe
- Establish and manage regional growth and business targets jointly with Chief Commercial Officer
- Accountable for the profit centers’ underwriting and accurate documentation
- Participate in industry functions to increase company visibility in the marketplace
- Demonstrate superior responsiveness to agents and principals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- More than 10 years of experience in surety with experience building, developing, and expanding distribution relationships or equivalent
- Significant commercial surety experience
- Ability to respond promptly and effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Ability to define problems, gather the facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to prioritize and organize
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a sharp rigorous thinker with logical connections for others between market realities, goals, vision and strategy
- Must possess high ethical standards and expect the same from others in the organization
- Ability to establish and develop long‐standing relationships
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring VISA sponsorship
