Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible to identify, design and develop a product/product family.
Ensures production procedures efficiently utilize materials and personnel.
Tests finished product for quality purposes and recommends changes to product specifications as necessary.
Receive and process changes required by clients, released on production, at a SR Level.
Responsible to develop the product from concept up to the SOP on a limited basis or as a full development as an FSS.
May develop, uncover, characterize, and assess strategic new products and/or product extensions.
Transforms and adopts discoveries to ensure research and development activities will maintain an organization’s competitive position.
May also focus on pure research and/or design and implementing the manufacturing processes and equipment for the product.

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
4–8+ years of experience in product engineering, with direct experience in a Tier 1 automotive or OEM manufacturing environment.
Proficient in AIAG core tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA (DFMEA/PFMEA), Control Plans, and SPC.
Deep understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks).
Specific expertise in IP, door panel, consoles.
Experience with Teamcenter or similar PLM systems is preferred.
IATF 16949 auditor certification is preferred.
