About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install, configure, and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Set up data back up system and implement data restore plan
- Extract and transform data to proper format depending on the data analysis needs
- Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
- Ensure all database programs meet the company and performance requirements.
- Research and suggest new database products, services, and protocols.
- Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases.
- Creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 2+ years of database administration experience
- Strong understanding of DBMS (SQL Server)
- Proficiency in SQL (queries, joins, stored procedures)
- Experience with database backup and recovery
- Skills in performance tuning and query optimization
- Understanding of database security (access control, encryption)
- Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery (replication, failover)
- Ability to install, configure, and maintain databases
- Familiarity with data modeling and database design
- Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for ETL processes
- Experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) for reporting and dashboards
