About the role

  • Perform engineering duties in inspecting, planning, and accomplishing repairs to facility, machines, and other electrical functioning equipment and systems
  • Oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems
  • Provide technical support to achieve established business goals and objectives directly related to the Utilities/Operations department in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Develop, design, coordinate, and lead activities in the installation and maintenance of electrical system equipment and distribution systems including supporting production equipment as requested by departments/shops
  • Research issues, analyze consumption and energy data, and develop countermeasures for downtime incidents
  • Provide technical direction and support to identify and troubleshoot problems, propose countermeasures, and resolve issues
  • Development and oversee preventative maintenance plans
  • Assist in maintain spare parts for electrical systems and equipment
  • Design new installation as needed for replacement of old equipment
  • Monitor contractor work for compliance with NEC, Building Electrical Codes, and HMMA departmental, safety, and quality standards
  • Support and/or lead continuous improvement activities in regard to new technologies and energy savings
  • Provide technical training to Team Members as needed
  • Develop, document, and present technical presentations
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements
  • Team Member may be required to handle hazardous wastes which may include identifying, inspecting, packaging, labelling, and moving waste in compliance with RCRA regulations
  • Work with contractors and shop management and specialists in executing work requests and completing projects
  • Chair the Energy Task Force Meeting
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering desired
  • 0 – 10 years of job-related experience desired
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience in automotive, heavy industry, or high-volume production setting preferred
  • NEC, NFPA, OSHA Electrical Standards
  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • MS Project preferred
  • SAP preferred
  • AutoCAD preferred
