About the role
- Leverage kinematic models to generate clearance envelopes for accurate spatial planning
- Manage packaging issues by creating, assigning, and tracking, while coordinating regular packaging review meetings with key stakeholders until achieving resolution
- Perform benchmarking analysis and maintain a database of dimensional benchmarks
- Assist in the development of general layout drawings and master sections
- Analyze surfaces, working closely with designers to ensure production feasibility and alignment with vehicle systems
- Collaborate across functional teams, including manufacturing, to ensure the feasibility of assembly processes
- Present to upper management across the organization
- Design and develop BIW designs for minor and major change programs
- Identify interference conditions and feasibility challenges, and develop solutions to address
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent from an ABET-accredited or equivalent program
- Excellent communication skills and ability to operate effectively independently and across functions in a global team environment
- 0 to 3 years of relevant experience
- Packaging or Structures experience with various levels of propulsion systems in automotive applications and BIW design.
- CAD and CATIA V5 experience
