About the role

  • The Sr. Group Manager, Genesis House Operations and Strategy reports to the Director, Genesis Brand Experience, Genesis House & Studios and provides management support of the overall operations and strategy for Genesis House and Studios with responsibility for all aspects of the facility operations, including planning, tactical execution, guest and employee satisfaction, guest experience, and agency/vendor management.
  • Responsible for ensuring the implementation of guest experience strategy and Genesis brand initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations, implementing operational efficiencies, and increasing financial performance.
  • Manages multiple operations/service vendor and local staff while overseeing strategy and priorities.
  • The position supports Genesis operations plans, ensuring resources are leveraged and coordinates proactive operations activities, when appropriate, improve guest experience, improve internal and strengthen internal protocol and governance, and drive customer volume in Genesis House.
  • This position will also ensure that all initiatives align with Genesis global standards and successfully position the Genesis brand.
  • Builds loyalty through proactive communication, setting and managing expectations and delivering solid business results.
  • Operations Strategy Development: Develops operations and programing plans designed to align Genesis House brand standard and goals to drive engagement and, above all, member, owner, and guest experience.
  • Collaborates with Genesis Motor America and Genesis Global Headquarters team to understand global brand strategy and aligns with the Director, Genesis Brand Experience, Genesis House & Studios on how to use brand venues to further brand engagement.
  • Stays current with trends for brand venues and best practices to support continuous innovation.
  • Lead the full lifecycle of tentpole, programing and partnership production and guest experience.
  • Collaborates with Genesis House partners to improve, develop and innovate Genesis House Restaurant.
  • Develop strategy and timelines with the restaurant team to create season plan for menu changes.
  • Collaborate with public relations agencies to develop food and beverage strategies to highlight seasonality of Genesis House restaurant menus and cultural events.
  • Explores new business opportunities; develops marketing and business development plans designed to maximize property awareness, engagement and, above all, member, owner, and guest experience.
  • Oversee and manage all fleet operations for House, Studio and Hudson Yards.
  • Business Strategy Execution: Execute business plans designed to drive visitor volume, topline revenue and guest experience satisfaction, and profitability at Genesis House restaurant.
  • Manages Sr. Manager, Operations, internal restaurant team, GH operations team and other agencies in the execution of revenue generating strategies for property, including continually improving service and food and beverage service, developing commercially enticing programing, developing local neighborhood relationships, growing regular guest database.
  • Partner with marketing team to drive awareness of Genesis House though strategic social media, CRM, and paid media/social campaigns with offers and ideas to target guests.
  • Manage timelines and expectations with the Genesis House restaurant team to execute seasonal food and beverage updates.
  • Partner with various teams to execute on-site/in market events. Approve all final operational changes in liaison with Executive Director.
  • Review leadership of service providers and work with Executive Director on finding and proposing changes.
  • Brand Champion: Serves as passionate brand advocate, ensuring brand essence is integrated throughout guest experience. Communicates a clear and consistent message regarding Genesis brand, Genesis House and Studios to leadership team, employees, members, and guests; serves as a role model by demonstrating exceptional work ethic and service delivery for all employees. Inspires and motivates staff to achieve operational excellence.
  • Business Information Analysis: Monitors business related data including revenues, expenses, cash flow, event performance, partnership alignment, guest experience satisfaction, employee engagement, and retailer alignment. Ensures service providers adhere to budget guidelines while achieving guest volume targets and meeting topline restaurant revenue and profitability goals. Uses business information to identify indicators of product and service successes and opportunities for improvement, including analyzing the effectiveness of staffing plans and day-to-day operations. Identify ways to grow awareness, engagement, and daily traffic/interaction by researching and staying aware of competitor and similar venue strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Master’s degree a plus.
  • Ten or more years of hospitality/experiential/operations and/or brand development experience required.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Luxury experience required.
  • Largescale event production experience preferred.
  • International and/or automotive experience preferred.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to set goals and have a vision to create, leads, promote, and facilitate all operations.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with experience in uniting an operations team and event professionals – full time and temporary staff – to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external resources in developing and/or contributing to strategic initiatives that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
  • Project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to think critically while working in a dynamic, team environment.
  • Successful track record of managing vendor relationships.
  • Ability to conceptualize big ideas and see ideas through to execution.
  • Highly motivated and decisive individual who is self-directed yet works well in a team.
