About the role

  • Serve as technical expert of assigned area during new vehicle and/or tooling launches
  • Conduct feasibility studies and detailed confirmations of new manufacturing processes
  • Coordinate and lead project activities, including design, supplier selection, and implementation phases
  • Coordinate launch schedules and report progress and issues to senior management
  • Support the launch of the new vehicle during initial production stage
  • Continually review technical developments in area of responsibility and propose new technology projects as appropriate
  • FMEA development and implementation
  • Resolve safety, process and quality issues on new model launches
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • 0 – 10 years job related experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a design or launch/sustaining engineer, preferably in automotive (high volume)
  • Preferred experience with various manufacturing processes such as metal stamping, welding/brazing, and hemming
  • Tool and Die training / experience preferred
  • MS Word proficiency
  • MS Excel proficiency
  • MS PowerPoint proficiency
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling
  • CATIA V5/V6 experience a plus but not mandatory
  • GD and T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing – Dimensional Control)
