About the role

  • Support Brake System Design: Be engaged in the end-to-end design of Braking components using CATIA V5.
  • Support Mechanical Analysis: Support detailed engineering analysis to predict brake performance, durability and noise-vibration-harshness (NVH) characteristics.
  • Support Concept Development: Support development of and documentation of Brake System concepts and packaging layouts.
  • Validation Planning & Testing: Support validation plans for Brake systems.
  • Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with Tier-1 suppliers on component design and development.
  • Design Review & Documentation: Support and participate in design reviews and maintain engineering documents.
  • Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Help investigate and resolve engineering issues during development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and product engineering teams.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Act as technical support within the chassis/Brake team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant automotive engineering experience, with a significant portion in chassis or brake system design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient in a CAD system (CATIA V5 preferred, will accept NX or Solidworks).
  • Experience working on electric or hybrid vehicle brake systems.
  • Knowledge of CAE tools (e.g. ANSYS, Nastran, MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Knowledge of vehicle ride & handling, off-road performance, and NVH considerations specific to heavy-duty trucks and SUVs.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g. CATIA V6) and PDM (ENOVIA V6) or Windchill PLM systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Six Sigma certification, if applicable, are advantageous.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
