About the role
- Lead the development of power steering systems for U.S. pickup trucks and off-road vehicles.
- Create and refine complex 3D models and assemblies in CATIA V5.
- Define steering system requirements and perform engineering analysis.
- Plan and execute prototype development and testing.
- Ensure all steering designs comply with relevant FMVSS and SAE regulations.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and other teams.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of hands-on automotive design experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in chassis and suspension design, focusing on Power Steering Systems.
- Familiarity with variable-assist steering mechanisms and steering dampers.
- Proficiency in CAE tools (e.g. ANSYS, Nastran, MATLAB/Simulink).
- In-depth understanding of vehicle ride & handling, off-road performance, and NVH considerations.
