About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage day-to-day Finance & Accounting operations
- Handle Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, collections, and reconciliations
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Prepare financial statements, schedules, and MIS reports
- Ensure accounting activities comply with US GAAP
- Support SaaS revenue accounting, deferred revenue, accruals, and prepaid accounting
- Coordinate audits, compliance, and finance documentation
- Assist the Finance Director with finance projects, reporting, controls, and process improvements
- Work cross-functionally with business, HR, payroll, and operations teams
- Own hands-on finance operations while partnering closely with the Finance Director
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.Com or M.Com
- Professional certification: CA (Semi-qualified/Qualified) or CMA
- 4–6 years of relevant Finance & Accounting experience
- Experience working with a US startup or managing accounting/reporting under US GAAP and compliances
- Minimum 2–3 years of software/SaaS industry experience
- Hands-on experience with AP/AR operations, General Ledger, month-end close, financial statements, account reconciliations, and compliance/audit support
- Understanding of SaaS finance operations, including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, subscription billing, collections and renewals support, and customer invoicing cycles
- Familiarity with ASC 606 preferred
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with QuickBooks, Zoho, Xero, or similar ERP systems used by global startups
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong attention to detail and process orientation
- Problem-solving attitude and willingness to take a hands-on approach
- Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- Ability to build structure and improve finance processes
