About the role
- Learn the hx Renew modelling platform and ship models independently within days
- Build models in Python for seamless integration using cutting-edge approaches
- Work directly with customer actuarial teams, partner developers and internal development teams to solve complex coding problems using Python
- Develop cutting-edge technical solutions alongside engineers, actuaries, mathematicians and data scientists
- Review existing Python model development approach and contribute to best-practice guides
- Contribute to internal and external training & development materials
- Day-to-day quality assurance of in-flight client and internal projects
- Seek opportunities to improve model development standards and ways of working
Requirements
- A flair for Python - production grade Python experience required
- Any experience using predictive modelling and advanced analytics methods (preference for exposure to insurance or reinsurance pricing techniques)
- A self-starter attitude - operate autonomously within a high-trust, high-accountability environment
- Evidence of a passion for experimenting with new approaches and technologies through work and extracurricular learning
- Bonus: Experience working in a customer-facing role
- Must be comfortable being in the office 2 - 3 days per week
