About the role

  • Selling guest rooms, meeting space, food and beverage and other Hyatt services to customer groups
  • Managing accounts and conducting site inspections
  • Soliciting and generating new business
  • Preparing and presenting effective proposals
  • Maintaining well organized documentation and reports
  • Utilizing Hyatt systems and coordinating customer service requirements as appropriate
  • Participating in and may lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings
  • Working as a team member with the sales and event staff, and in close contact with assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff

Requirements

  • Business Development skillset and experience is a must
  • Creative thinker who is motivated to succeed and grow
  • Strong customer service and client relationship building skills
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales experience
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
  • Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training
  • Must have selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
  • Knowledge of Hyatt systems including Envision and additional platforms such as Opera and Cvent are preferred
  • Community involvement and/or professional association is highly regarded
