About the role
- Selling guest rooms, meeting space, food and beverage and other Hyatt services to customer groups
- Managing accounts and conducting site inspections
- Soliciting and generating new business
- Preparing and presenting effective proposals
- Maintaining well organized documentation and reports
- Utilizing Hyatt systems and coordinating customer service requirements as appropriate
- Participating in and may lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings
- Working as a team member with the sales and event staff, and in close contact with assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff
Requirements
- Business Development skillset and experience is a must
- Creative thinker who is motivated to succeed and grow
- Strong customer service and client relationship building skills
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
- Refined verbal and written communication skills
- A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales experience
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
- Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training
- Must have selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
- Knowledge of Hyatt systems including Envision and additional platforms such as Opera and Cvent are preferred
- Community involvement and/or professional association is highly regarded
