About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead cross-functional programs containing multiple related projects and ensure successful program outcomes
- Oversee and indirectly manage Project Managers within the North American organization
- Lead cross-functional, global, enterprise, and transformational projects
- Plan, control, report status, and ensure delivery of projects and programs on time, cost, and quality
- Manage project dependencies, scope, change requests, risks, issues, budgets, schedules, and product costs
- Build, inspire, and develop global project teams while holding members accountable for deliverables
- Develop and maintain RACI charts, executive scorecards, project dashboards, and weekly budget and schedule updates
- Align portfolio management, resource planning, project requirements, and strategic business objectives
- Facilitate steering team meetings, financial reviews, root-cause analysis, and lessons-learned sessions
- Develop and improve project management tools, methodologies, business processes, and standard approaches
- Provide subject-matter expertise, guidance, and mentorship to PMO resources
- Report project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders and decision bodies
- Report directly to the Director of the Strategy and Transformation office
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of ten (10+) years of professional Project Management experience in new product development, testing, and/or manufacturing
- Experience developing sourced finished goods products with overseas suppliers
- Experience planning project budgets and project financials, monitoring project and product costs, establishing timelines, creating Work Breakdown Structures, managing stakeholders, and managing and mitigating risks
- Experience leading new product development projects for outdoor power equipment, consumer goods, and/or product and process improvement
- Experience leading multicultural hybrid teams
- Experience with stage gate project planning
- Knowledge of project management processes and techniques
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority
- Ability to manage complex projects concurrently and proactively escalate risks and issues
- Ability to monitor geopolitical risks affecting programs and projects
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
- Ability to create dashboards and concisely report project status and data to management
- Familiarity with Husqvarna business systems and ways of working
- Excellent time management, follow-up, verbal, written, teamwork, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to adapt to process changes, delays, and unexpected events
- Ability to travel up to 10% to domestic and/or international sites
- Ability and willingness to work extended hours, overtime, and weekends due to alternate time zones
- Professional project management certification such as PMP preferred
- Experience with change management preferred
