About the role
- Lead Husqvarna Battery Competence Center (HGBCC) R&D organization focused on battery and charger development for high-performance products
- Oversee 5 group managers and ~50 engineers across multiple sites in Sweden and Germany
- Personnel management and capacity planning
- Manage budget responsibilities and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards
- Represent R&D perspectives in HGBCC's cross-functional leadership team and internal steering groups
- Build long-term technology and concept development plans, enhance modular design and platform definition
- Drive HGBCC’s global footprint and partnerships for R&D activities and external collaborations with academia and industry
- Balance competing trends and stakeholder expectations to ensure robust technology choices
- Reduce costs in batteries and chargers through streamlined technical approaches and operational synergies
- Adapt organizational structures and ways of working to support efficiency and scalability
- Participate in patent review meetings and contribute to intellectual property strategies
- Strengthen innovation and research capabilities through strategic external partners
Requirements
- Several years of experience in a similar role
- Solid background in personnel management
- Experience in leading leaders (advantage)
- Ability to build trust and foster strong relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders
- Structured, systematic and strategic thinking
- Confidence engaging in technical discussions with engineers and experts
- Higher university degree with a relevant technical focus—within batteries or another scientific/engineering discipline
- Experience of legal and practical aspects of cooperation with external partners
- Experience working with intellectual property rights
- Strategic planning skills and long-term thinking
- Ability to work effectively across different cultures and personalities
- A coaching leadership style that keeps the organization focused on goals
