About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Underwrite complex commercial loans in accordance with Huntington credit policies.
Monitor a portfolio of commercial loans, proactively identifying emerging risks and escalating issues.
Portfolio administration, including management of delinquencies, collateral exceptions, borrowing base and covenant compliance, product renewals, etc., as applicable.
Attend client calls (virtual or in-person) with Relationship Management and other Bank partners.
Establish positioning as secondary bank contact for the portfolio of covered clients.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market/industry trends.
Conduct industry and market research using numerous resources available.
Assist with training and/or mentoring Analyst, Associate and Associate Director level colleagues.
Provide accurate and timely front-end guidance to Relationship Management colleagues.
Review and negotiate credit documentation in consultation with legal counsel.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree
8+ years of experience in an underwriting or commercial banking environment
Formal credit training
Experience in the syndicated loan market
Proficiency in S&P Capital IQ
High level of professionalism and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (particularly Microsoft Excel)
