About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Underwrite complex commercial loans in accordance with Huntington credit policies.
- Monitor a portfolio of commercial loans, proactively identifying emerging risks and escalating issues.
- Portfolio administration, including management of delinquencies, collateral exceptions, borrowing base and covenant compliance, product renewals, etc., as applicable.
- Attend client calls (virtual or in-person) with Relationship Management and other Bank partners.
- Establish positioning as secondary bank contact for the portfolio of covered clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market/industry trends.
- Conduct industry and market research using numerous resources available.
- Assist with training and/or mentoring Analyst, Associate and Associate Director level colleagues.
- Provide accurate and timely front-end guidance to Relationship Management colleagues.
- Review and negotiate credit documentation in consultation with legal counsel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree
- 8+ years of experience in an underwriting or commercial banking environment
- Formal credit training
- Experience in the syndicated loan market
- Proficiency in S&P Capital IQ
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (particularly Microsoft Excel)
