About the role
- Provide technical assistance to customers and regional/area managers on how to troubleshoot irrigation systems and Hunter products.
- Trains contractors, distributors, municipalities, consultants, end‐users, and regional/area managers on the functionality, features, benefits, and servicing of Hunter products.
- Travels to remote job sites for pre‐construction meetings, system start‐up troubleshooting or testing, and installation of new product designs.
- May attend regional trade shows, superintendent meetings, and key technical presentations.
- Reports all activity weekly through Field Service SharePoint team site.
- Writes field service ticket in CRM for all customer support calls, site visits, and training sessions.
- Maintains ongoing customer list with detailed information on status of existing product and customer reference in CRM.
- Participates in education workshops, trade shows, and other industry conferences to maintain professional and technical knowledge.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in irrigation and landscape design, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical services in the landscape and irrigation design industry.
- In-depth knowledge of irrigation practices, including turf management scheduling, sprinkler design, pumps, and central control systems.
- Experience with WLAN and LAN networks.
- Proficiency with landscape lighting systems.
- Technical knowledge of company and competitor products, irrigation systems, installation practices, and troubleshooting methodology.
- Strong problem-solving skills including problem analysis, planning, organizing, decisiveness, and decision making.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English, as well as verbal fluency in Spanish.
- Knowledge of finance and budgeting processes with the ability to prepare budgets and manage expenses within budget.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills with ability to use Windows programs and to perform word processing, spreadsheet, and database management on a personal computer.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, both domestically and internationally as needed, live in a strategic location within the territory, and work flexible hours.
- Valid driver's license and driving record sufficient to meet requirements to be insured by company.
- Able to obtain a valid passport.
