Take full ownership of the existing web application and lead ongoing development and optimisation
Design, build, and ship new product features independently, with a strong focus on reliability and scalability
Maintain and evolve the current backend and frontend architecture
Collaborate closely with the founder to translate product ideas into technical solutions
Lead future development of mobile app functionality and expanded alerting/notification features
Review and improve system performance, security, and maintainability
Introduce best practices for code quality, documentation, and deployment
Eventually oversee and mentor 1–2 developers as the team grows
Provide guidance on data security, access controls, and contractor-level compliance

Requirements

Strong experience as a Senior Software Engineer or Technical Lead, preferably in a startup or product-led environment
Backend Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of Python and AWS Applications.
Frontend Expertise: Strong command of Angular, TypeScript, and CSS.
Cloud Experience: Solid hands-on experience with AWS and serverless architecture.
Autonomy: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound technical decisions.
Product Mindset: Able to balance speed, quality, and long-term scalability.
AI Integration: Comfortable using AI tools to increase development output and efficiency (as a force multiplier, not a shortcut).
Mindset: Growth-oriented, proactive, and confident in taking ownership of outcomes.
Bonus: Experience with GIS, mapping, or geospatial data is a plus, but not required.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
