About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee insurance accounts receivable and accounts payable operations
Lead denial management, claims follow-up, credit balance resolution, patient and insurance refund operations, patient billing support, and customer service activities
Lead an internal insurance follow-up and escalated patient billing team of approximately 10–15 direct reports
Partner with an outsourced Revenue Cycle customer service vendor
Monitor and drive accounts receivable aging, collections, denial resolution, credit balance inventory, refund timeliness, and vendor service-level performance
Collaborate with clinical, operational, compliance, contracting, and finance teams
Optimize reimbursement and ensure regulatory compliance
Improve revenue cycle processes and support organizational revenue goals
Make decisions regarding resources, approach, and tactical operations for departmental projects and initiatives
Report to the Associate Director of Revenue Cycle Management

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or related field
6 or more years of healthcare revenue cycle experience
2 or more years of management experience
Experience managing revenue cycle, accounts receivable, or patient financial services teams
Deep understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operations, including claims management, denials, accounts receivable follow-up, and patient billing
Proven ability to improve collections performance and reduce aging accounts receivable
Leadership experience developing high-performing teams and managing vendor partnerships
Analytical ability to identify trends, solve problems, and implement process improvements
Excellent communication and customer service skills focused on patient and provider experience
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Managed Care reimbursement
Preferred: CPB, CPC, CCS, CRCR, or similar healthcare revenue cycle certification
Preferred: Experience supporting primary care, specialty care, or multi-site physician practices
Preferred: Experience managing outsourced revenue cycle vendors or call center operations
Preferred: Experience with Athenahealth or similar practice management and revenue cycle platforms
Home internet with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed
Dedicated workspace without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information
