• Create concept art, mood boards, and character studies that define LeLamp's personality and visual identity.
• Collaborate with the hardware team on form factor, silhouette, materials, and color to keep the physical design aligned with the character.
• Design expressive motion — gestures, "emotional" states, and behaviors expressed through movement, light, and sound.
• Prototype and iterate quickly, moving between sketches, renders, and physical mockups.
• Partner with robotics and software engineers to translate character intent into concrete behavior parameters (motion curves, timing, lighting cues).
• Build and maintain style guides and a character bible to keep the robot's expression consistent as the team grows.
• Review hardware and software prototypes against the character vision and give clear, actionable feedback.
• Support brand and marketing assets to keep the character consistent across every touchpoint.

Character Artist

Supply Chain

• Source, qualify, and manage relationships with component suppliers, distributors, and contract manufacturers (CMs).
• Own BOM cost, lead-time, and availability tracking across mechanical and electrical subsystems.
• Partner with EE/ME teams on design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) reviews.
• Manage procurement and purchase orders, balancing cost, lead time, and inventory risk.
• Identify and mitigate component obsolescence and single-source risk across the BOM.
• Coordinate with manufacturing partners on quoting, tooling, and production timelines.
• Support incoming quality inspection and work with suppliers to resolve nonconformances.
• Track and forecast inventory needs as build volumes scale from prototype to production.
• Help build and refine internal processes as the team grows.

Supply Chain Engineer

Engineer

• Design, train, and deploy computer vision and perception models for person detection, tracking, pose estimation, gesture recognition, emotion recognition and scene understanding.
• Develop data collection, labeling, and evaluation pipelines to improve model performance and reliability.
• Build perception systems that operate robustly across varying lighting conditions, environments, and user behaviors.
• Optimize models for real-time inference on edge hardware while balancing latency, accuracy, and power constraints.
• Work with RGB cameras, depth sensors, IMUs, audio inputs, and other sensor modalities to create multi-modal perception systems.
• Develop tools for dataset management, model evaluation, debugging, and monitoring.
• Support integration between perception, behavior, controls, and firmware systems.
• Stay updated with state-of-the-art research to develop architectures and techniques that can improve the robot’s ability to understand and interact with people.
• Debug perception failures systematically and close the loop through data-driven improvements.
• Help define and evolve the platform’s perception architecture as the robot grows in capability.
