Senior Global Category Manager – Logistics
HuhtamakiSenior Global Category Manager focusing on global logistics strategies for sustainable packaging at Huhtamaki. Leading supplier management and cost optimization efforts for international operations.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and own global logistics category strategy and sourcing roadmap – Sea Freight, Warehousing , Road freight + 3PL.
- Lead RFx processes, negotiations, and final supplier selection recommendations.
- Approve contracting strategy, commercial terms, and risk‑mitigation frameworks.
- Determine cost‑saving initiatives, competitive bidding, and consolidation opportunities.
- Achievement of category cost targets (savings, avoidance, working capital improvements).
- Supplier performance (OTIF, lead times, capacity reliability, digital capabilities).
- Risk management across logistics lanes and suppliers.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7-12 years experience in global logistics procurement, transportation management (road, ocean, air, rail), warehousing & 3PL management and Supply chain operations.
- Proven experience managing large, complex global suppliers.
- Strong background in sourcing, contracting, procurement governance, and cost modelling.
- Strong stakeholder management and project execution skills.
- Strategic mindset, with ability to convert business needs into category solutions.
