About the role
- Negotiate, draft, review, and support negotiation of commercial contracts, sales/customer contracts, product terms & conditions, marketing and technology agreements, partnership agreements, content license agreements and vendor agreements
- Assist with commercial contracting systems, templates, playbooks, and processes across Hudl’s product suites
- Provide legal guidance to internal business clients across multiple departments, including reviewing marketing materials and advising on contests and promotions
- Conduct legal research and keep up with changes in relevant areas of law; contribute to company legal knowledgebase
- Support other Legal Team members with more complex contract negotiations and training business stakeholders on contracting principles
Requirements
- Law degree from an accredited law school
- Minimum of one year post-qualified experience working in a law firm and/or in-house
- Admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (state or D.C.)
- Ability to obtain in-house registration in Nebraska
- Understanding of laws and regulations impacting commercial transactions
- Practical approach to managing legal risk while meeting business objectives
- Strong process orientation and systems thinking
- Ability to work cross-functionally and balance competing interests
- Self-starter with strong judgment and critical thinking skills
- Strong writing skills and ability to make complex legal issues simple for non-lawyers
- (Nice-to-have) Experience with software/SaaS commercial transactions, M&A, EdTech, data protection, student data privacy, or government contracting
- (Nice-to-have) Global mindset and appreciation for cultural diversity
- Must live within commuting distance of Lincoln, Nebraska and be regularly present in-office; remote hires not considered
