About the role

  • At HubSpot, the Design Language Systems group builds the foundation of our product experience. This includes patterns, best practices, components, and tools. We are starting a multi-year effort to modernize how our product looks and feels, and we are looking for a Technical Lead to help drive that transformation.
  • The Trellis Embed Team works with hundreds of frontend teams at HubSpot as they migrate to a new component library. Later this year, our focus will shift from migration to creating a more cohesive product. We’ll focus on the journeys, flows, and templates that shape the user experience.
  • This is an internal-facing role with a unique opportunity to mentor at scale and help shape the future of HubSpot's user interface.
  • We’re looking for:
  • A strong senior engineer with experience leading small, autonomous teams
  • Someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and has experience working closely with design
  • Experience with frontend design systems at scale is preferred
  • Experience setting up tooling at scale is a plus
  • Someone who prefers solving problems with technology rather than process
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and evaluate trade-offs while keeping the developer experience in mind
  • Someone who can see opportunities beyond current practices and help shape a long-term vision for where we’re headed
