What you’ll need

Excellent technical writing and editing skills
Sound judgment about what is essential versus noise
Proven ability to explain complex technical work to non-technical audiences in executive-summary style
Familiarity with one or more modern programming languages
Comfortable reading code in unfamiliar languages
Strong logical and algorithmic reasoning skills
Comfort with ambiguity and willingness to work outside the technical comfort zone
Prior software engineering or project management experience preferred
Experience writing technical documentation, release notes, or developer-facing content preferred
Experience reviewing pull requests or participating in code review processes preferred
