About the role

  • Participate in New Product Development (NPD) teams to deliver new products with a high degree of complexity; responsibilities include requirements analysis and system design
  • Design, develop, test, and validate microcontroller-based PCBs
  • Work with software developers to design, develop, and test embedded software
  • Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and support existing products
  • Design and evaluate products, parts, and processes for cost efficiency and reliability
  • Assess older equipment designs facing parts obsolescence and redesign that equipment when necessary
  • Interact with application engineers, sales, and production, as well as with customers, vendors, and printed circuit board houses

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering Discipline, required
  • Masters Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering Discipline, preferred
  • Must have at least 5 years’ industry experience in electronics-based product development
  • Proficient in Altium Designer (or similar CAD tool) for schematic capture, component selection, component creation, PCB layout, Gerber generation & verification
  • Experience in creating microcontroller-based PCB designs
  • Excellent knowledge of electronic components
  • Strong organizational skills in documenting design, testing, and validation processes
  • Experience with SAE J1939 is a plus
  • Experience with the design requirements of UL508A and/or UL218 is a plus
  • Willing to travel up to 5%
