About the role
- Lead a timely, accurate month-end close process in alignment with segment and corporate controllership.
- Act as the primary contact for PCX businesses’ financial reporting.
- Manage billing activities for external customers.
- Provide finance support for local sales and operations teams.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with Hubbell policies, U.S. GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external audits, including preparation of required documentation.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, complete account reconciliations, and perform variance analysis.
- Develop annual standard costing including manufacturing labor and burden rates.
- Coordinate and process annual standard cost rolls.
- Assist in execution of annual physical inventories.
- Assist in the verification of fixed assets.
- Maintain responsibility for routine calculation of accruals.
- Effectively communicate financial information to non-financial professionals.
- Work with project managers to accurately record capital purchases and associated depreciation.
- Provide support for preparing and loading annual operating budget and monthly forecasts.
- Identify opportunities to increase the efficiency of the close process through enhancement of existing procedures and utilization of financial systems and tools.
- Complete ad hoc financial information requests and various special projects as needed in our SAP, OneStream and Blackline systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, from a four-year college or university required.
- CPA, CMA, MSA/MBA are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including GAAP.
- 5+ years’ accounting experience, preferably within a global, multi-site manufacturing organization.
- Operational (Cost) accounting experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of transactional accounting and internal controls, SOX.
- SAP, OneStream, and Blackline experience desired.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Tools (Excel V-lookup, pivot tables, Power BI, PowerPoint).
- Experience in continuous improvement initiatives and implementing finance and accounting best practices.
- Highly organized with an ability to work well under tight time constraints.
- Self-starter who can work independently and employ time management skills to meet stated deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively and enlist cooperation in all areas impacting performance goals.
