About the role

  • Design, develop, and advance medium- and high-voltage electrical connectors for the Electric Utility industry
  • Support the development of fiber telecom connectivity products as needed
  • Participate in product development projects including concept development, mechanical and electrical design, prototyping, and testing
  • Lead requirements definition, project reviews, and design verification/validation efforts
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards through proper documentation and certification support
  • Develop and validate 3D models, engineering drawings, and simulations
  • Coordinate and perform design experiments, including mechanical, electrical, and environmental testing
  • Support root-cause investigations and product enhancements for existing connector portfolios

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering disciplines with demonstrated industry design experience
  • 10+ years of product design experience in medium/high voltage connectors or related industrial/mechanical components
  • Strong understanding of high-voltage electrical behavior, materials, and mechanical design
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling and simulation tools (AutoDesk Inventor & SolidWorks)
  • Experience with design verification/validation testing and lab test equipment
  • Understanding of industry standards (ANSI, IEEE, IEC, NEMA, Telcordia)
  • Experience with DFMEA, design-to-value, and structured product development processes
