About the role
- Leading sourcing of major commodity items for the Business Unit.
- Analyzing potential suppliers in our market.
- Working with our corporate sourcing team on cost savings projects.
- Evaluating proposals from vendors and negotiating within budgetary limitations.
- Working with Product Engineers to develop cost effective product components.
- Working closely with manufacturing management to ensure inventory goals are met.
- Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance and leading improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering General, or technical field (required)
- 3-5 years of experience in a materials role involving sourcing activities for a manufacturing operation (required)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and drawings (required)
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Familiarity with Quality systems, processes, and requirements.
- Demonstrated negotiations experience.
- Strong analytical skills.
