About the role

  • Lead packaging design shared service work for Transmission and Distribution products in Electric Utility market
  • Execute packaging design tasks including Packaging CAD, packaging testing and evaluation
  • Perform design for cost, reliability, performance, recyclability, and environmental analysis for packaging designs
  • Develop and implement packaging design procedures for the strategic business unit
  • Identify and execute on packaging savings opportunities in alignment with business unit productivity plans and goals
  • Organize training and education on product packaging designs for engineers

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering and/or medium and high voltage engineering
  • 5-10 years of experience in packaging design
  • Demonstrated capability of CAD and packaging design tools e.g. Solidworks, Autodesk, etc
  • Ability to travel on business related trips – up to 15% of the time
  • Ability to walk around the manufacturing shop floor and lift 50 pounds as needed (part inspection, part fit check, product testing, etc.)
