About the role
- Leading the design, development, and testing of complex electrical systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Providing technical leadership to a team of engineers, guiding them in project execution, problem-solving, and skill development.
- Conducting thorough analyses, simulations, and tests to validate designs, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system performance.
- Evaluating project feasibility, developing project plans, and contributing to budgeting and scheduling efforts.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards throughout the design and implementation process.
- Driving innovation by staying up to date on emerging technologies and recommending improvement to existing systems and processes.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders, presenting project updates, technical findings, and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering with a focus on design and project management (required)
- Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant tools for electrical design, analysis, and simulation (required)
- Experience with test equipment and measurement methodologies for electrical systems
- Experience with regulatory agencies such as FCC, UL, CSA, etc. (preferred)
- Familiarity with product safety and EMC standards
- Familiarity with 3 phase and split phase power systems
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to mentor and guide engineering teams
- Expertise in electrical engineering principles, theories, and methodologies
- Project management experience, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
