About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, implement and support API integrations for internal platforms and external partners
Define and promote API design, development and deployment standards
Manage API lifecycle activities, including documentation, versioning and governance
Support partner onboarding and integration activities to drive adoption and reduce implementation effort
Monitor API performance, troubleshoot integration issues and identify opportunities for optimisation
Maintain and support API gateway platforms and associated tooling
Create and maintain high-quality API documentation and developer resources
Ensure APIs meet security, compliance and governance requirements
Coordinate testing and quality assurance activities to ensure reliable integration outcomes
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Architecture and Business teams to deliver scalable integration solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

3-7+ years' experience in API integration, middleware or backend services
Strong experience designing and supporting REST APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications
Experience working with API gateways such as Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway or similar platforms
Solid understanding of OAuth2, OIDC and API security best practices
Experience integrating with third-party systems and external partners
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across distributed environments
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
