About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement and support API integrations for internal platforms and external partners
- Define and promote API design, development and deployment standards
- Manage API lifecycle activities, including documentation, versioning and governance
- Support partner onboarding and integration activities to drive adoption and reduce implementation effort
- Monitor API performance, troubleshoot integration issues and identify opportunities for optimisation
- Maintain and support API gateway platforms and associated tooling
- Create and maintain high-quality API documentation and developer resources
- Ensure APIs meet security, compliance and governance requirements
- Coordinate testing and quality assurance activities to ensure reliable integration outcomes
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Architecture and Business teams to deliver scalable integration solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3-7+ years' experience in API integration, middleware or backend services
- Strong experience designing and supporting REST APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications
- Experience working with API gateways such as Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway or similar platforms
- Solid understanding of OAuth2, OIDC and API security best practices
- Experience integrating with third-party systems and external partners
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across distributed environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
