About the role
- Design, build and maintain backend services using Kotlin and Java
- Work on our platform optimizing for performance, scalability and stability
- Design and implement systems that effectively bridge between the digital and physical worlds of warehouse operations
- Engage in rapid prototyping to validate assumptions quickly
- Help to improve architecture and engineering best practices continuously
- Actively contribute ideas and help drive technical discussions
- Collaborate closely with peers, product manager and stakeholders to build features from idea to production
- Visit warehouses to understand services firsthand, observe employees and gather feedback to improve services and UX
- Own applications that directly impact day-to-day warehouse operations (unpacking, grading, picking, wrapping orders)
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional experience in backend development with Kotlin and Java
- Confident working independently with both Kotlin and Java
- Experience building database architectures that perform and scale
- Experience building and scaling service-oriented architectures
- Enjoy working closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders
- Senior-level technical expertise, problem-solving, collaboration and ownership
- No direct reports expected
- Effective communication skills, transparency, and team spirit
- Pragmatic approach prioritizing shipping working solutions and iterating quickly
- Comfortable occasionally working with other tech stacks (e.g., PHP, Angular)
- Must be able to work full time
- Permanent employees required to reside in Germany (visa support may be requested)
