About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute a business development strategy for our AI, automation, and software services.
- Identify and target companies that could benefit from AI agents, workflow automation, custom development, and integration services.
- Generate qualified leads through LinkedIn, email outreach, referrals, partnerships, networking, events, and other relevant channels.
- Conduct discovery calls to understand the prospect's business problems, requirements, budget, timeline, and decision-making process.
- Translate client requirements into clear solution opportunities for the technical team.
- Work with management and the technical team to prepare proposals, estimates, presentations, statements of work, and commercial packages.
- Present our services and proposed solutions confidently to business owners, senior managers, and decision-makers.
- Manage the complete sales pipeline from initial contact through negotiation and closing.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects and prevent opportunities from becoming inactive.
- Build relationships with agencies, consultants, technology partners, and referral partners.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within existing client accounts.
- Maintain accurate pipeline records, forecasts, activity reports, and next steps in the CRM.
- Provide market feedback on client needs, pricing, competitors, and emerging opportunities.
- Help refine our service packages, positioning, case studies, outreach messaging, and sales materials.
- Meet agreed monthly and quarterly revenue and pipeline targets.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Approximately 5–8 years of experience in business development, technology sales, software services sales, SaaS sales, IT consulting, or a related field.
- Proven experience selling software development, automation, AI, SaaS, or technology services.
- Demonstrated ability to generate opportunities rather than relying entirely on inbound leads.
- Experience selling to international clients, particularly in Australia, the US, the UK, or the Middle East.
- Strong understanding of consultative and solution-based selling.
- Ability to understand business processes and identify where software or automation can improve efficiency, revenue, customer experience, or operating costs.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Confident conducting online meetings, product presentations, discovery calls, and commercial negotiations.
- Strong proposal writing, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Commercially aware and comfortable discussing pricing, budgets, retainers, project-based engagements, and recurring service arrangements.
- Organised and disciplined in managing a pipeline and CRM.
- Able to work closely with technical teams without needing to be a developer.
- Self-motivated, accountable, target-driven, and comfortable working in a growing business environment.
