About the role

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant systems for a high-traffic web platform;
  • Define and drive the engineering roadmap;
  • Review technical proposals from the team;
  • Write robust, scalable, and reusable code to build and maintain backend systems;
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality code standards;
  • Design and optimize database systems to support high transaction volumes;
  • Lead the implementation of caching strategies and load balancing;
  • Collaborate with a team of developers to deliver high-quality solutions;
  • Promote knowledge sharing across the team;
  • Conduct technical interviews and assess candidates’ skills;
  • Participate in requirements and implementation discussions to align technical directions with product goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years building and scaling high-traffic web applications;
  • Advanced proficiency in backend-focused languages like Python or similar;
  • Expertise in frameworks like Django/FastAPI, or similar for backend development;
  • Strong experience with database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and performance optimization techniques;
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes);
  • 2+ years of experience working in or leading engineering teams, with a focus on collaboration, code reviews, and knowledge sharing;
  • Ability to make strategic technical decisions and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, agile environment.
