About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join one of HP's most successful new enterprises, PWP- the HP PageWide Web Press business.
- PWP designs, develops, installs, and supports HP digital web presses all over the world.
- This engineer will be part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team that designs, develops, and implements hardware and industrial controls solutions on released web press products.
- Provide tier 4 engineering support, investigate hardware related field and factory issues and determine root cause(s).
- Develop and implement parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, system power measurements & acoustics.
- Use continuous improvement methodology to continuously improve performance, reliability and quality while reducing cost.
- Serve as HP technical interface for strategic suppliers.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s (undergraduate) degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline (preference given to Mechanical Engineering, but relevant work experience/expertise will be considered)
- Typically has 5 to 7 years of engineering experience, preferably in mechanical design.
- Ability to work across multiple technical disciplines
- Experience in delivering technical solutions and systems across all phases of the design cycle (concept through prototype through manufacturing through end of life/obsolescence)
- Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
- Proactive, innovative, self-motivating character
- Ability to adapt and respond quickly and appropriately to changing business needs
- Detail-oriented, with a desire and proven ability to use data and analytical methods to investigate/solve issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate product architecture, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels
- Fluency in English.
