About the role
- Provide domain-specific expertise to drive the driver/OS/firmware (BIOS/EC) engineering development and implementation process for overall software/firmware perspective.
- Lead multiple project teams of other software/firmware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, triage and integration.
- Manage relationships with development partners on software/firmware design and development; ensure progress against established plan and makes determinations based on analysis of business information to alter or update schedule and resource allocation to meet product requirements and development schedule.
- Communicate software/firmware development progress, escalations, and issue analysis to product stakeholders.
- Collaborate with management and partners to recommend and implement changes to product, processes, or practices to resolve escalated issues, produce solutions, and ensure adherence to budgets and scheduled product roadmaps.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in NB/PC related software/firmware development
- Expertise in BIOS development on Windows On ARM platform
- Embedded Controller (EC) development
- Windows OS Driver development
- Extensive experience with multiple software/firmware design tools and languages (C, C++, Python, Assembly, WinDbg, etc.)
- Experience in CI/CD and Agile or other equivalent modern development method
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent major.
