About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • design, enhance, and maintain pricing models and raters
  • perform rate indications and quantify rate adequacy across programs/products
  • evaluate program performance and delivering actionable data-driven insights to improve program results
  • develop rates, rating plans and product strategies for new and existing programs/products
  • Work closely with other senior leaders, underwriters, and external stakeholders to align actuarial practices with business objectives.
  • Strengthen relationships between the actuarial team both within DUAL and with DUAL’s carrier partners.
  • Lead research and development efforts in actuarial science to leverage new technologies and methodologies for improving service delivery and efficiency.
  • Mentor more junior team members of the actuarial team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional development.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an actuarial or insurance role
  • ACAS or FCAS or international equivalent
  • Strong understanding of basic and advanced ratemaking and reserving techniques and principles
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously
  • Self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex actuarial concepts to non-specialists.
  • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to influence business decisions and drive innovation within the actuarial domain.
  • Technical Skills: SQL, R, Python, Excel, PowerBI
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Engineering, etc.)
