About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- design, enhance, and maintain pricing models and raters
- perform rate indications and quantify rate adequacy across programs/products
- evaluate program performance and delivering actionable data-driven insights to improve program results
- develop rates, rating plans and product strategies for new and existing programs/products
- Work closely with other senior leaders, underwriters, and external stakeholders to align actuarial practices with business objectives.
- Strengthen relationships between the actuarial team both within DUAL and with DUAL’s carrier partners.
- Lead research and development efforts in actuarial science to leverage new technologies and methodologies for improving service delivery and efficiency.
- Mentor more junior team members of the actuarial team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional development.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 10 years of experience in an actuarial or insurance role
- ACAS or FCAS or international equivalent
- Strong understanding of basic and advanced ratemaking and reserving techniques and principles
- Ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously
- Self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex actuarial concepts to non-specialists.
- Strategic thinker with a proven ability to influence business decisions and drive innovation within the actuarial domain.
- Technical Skills: SQL, R, Python, Excel, PowerBI
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Engineering, etc.)
