About the role

  • Architect, develop, and scale data infrastructure from initial ingestion to business intelligence
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and clinical operations to transform complex healthcare data into actionable insights
  • Contribute directly to platform development as a hands-on senior technical engineer
  • Influence architectural decisions and take ownership of critical projects
  • Drive technical excellence and solidify engineering/data platform practices
  • Balance long-term platform vision with delivering immediate value and operational needs
  • Implement ELT, data quality, backfill strategies, and data modeling best practices

Requirements

  • 3+ years of combined experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or software engineering
  • Hands-on experience with data engineering tools such as Airflow, DBT, SQLMesh, Snowflake, MotherDuck (Modern Data Stack)
  • Skilled in at least one programming language (preferred TypeScript or Python)
  • Strong understanding of ELT, data lakes, data warehouses, backfill strategies, and data quality best practices
  • Practical experience with data modeling
  • Ability to make engineering tradeoffs and balance short-term needs with long-term vision
  • Some experience working within a cloud environment (e.g., AWS or Google Cloud)
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) tools like Terraform
  • Nice to have: experience within a rapidly growing company
  • Nice to have: track record of building data platforms from the ground up
  • Nice to have: prior experience in Healthcare
