About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manages the center maintenance functions to ensure center buildings, grounds, roads, sidewalks, and equipment are clean, well maintained, and free of hazards.
- Ensures facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained in operating condition, providing a safe and attractive living and learning environment for students and staff.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong management and leadership skills required.
- Three years of maintenance experience required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED) required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Valid State Drivers’ License.

- Implements a maintenance program that includes written preventive maintenance procedures, establishes 24/7 maintenance availability schedule ensuring coverage for handling emergency maintenance problems, including weekends and after-hours.
- Implements and manages maintenance tracking system that documents scheduled maintenance, work orders, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) deficiencies, and the amount of time taken to complete work.
- Collaborates with finance regarding the operating budget to include funds needed for capital improvement projects while remaining in compliance with the budget.
- Follows all guidelines when contract approval for construction or rehabilitation is given with close monitoring to ensure completion deadlines are met in a cost-effective manner.
- Coordinates with the state or local jurisdiction of authority to obtain all required construction permits and preoccupancy inspections if applicable.
- Participates in the facility survey process that includes Long-range planning, and implementation of measures to meet Federal mandates such as resource conservation, and green initiatives.
- Serves as the Center Sustainability Chair to develop and implement sustainable practices wherever feasible to promote energy and water conservation and reduce overall center operations costs.
- Submits Quarterly Waste Reports, updates center sustainability measures, and performs other duties as assigned within the individual’s scope and capabilities.
