About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the operational control point between workforce scheduling, surgical scheduling, and timekeeping/payroll processes
  • Validate staffing against surgical demand and coordinate real-time adjustments
  • Partner with perioperative supervisors to align workforce schedules with anticipated surgical volume and case demand
  • Review surgical schedules to validate coverage, skill mix, and operational readiness
  • Identify and escalate staffing gaps or inefficiencies
  • Monitor daily surgical schedule changes, including add-ons, cancellations, and delays, and assess staffing and timekeeping impact
  • Coordinate between staff, supervisors/charge nurses, and surgical schedulers
  • Reconcile workforce schedules, surgical activity, and actual worked time daily and each payroll cycle
  • Monitor attendance and tardiness; provide tutorial assistance for time-clock and timecard responsibilities
  • Monitor licensure, education, and certifications; review and edit timecards; notify leadership of revisions
  • Resolve staff time-entry discrepancies and prepare timecard inputs for supervisors
  • Analyze future schedules to identify anticipated staffing gaps
  • Engage PRN staff, utilize float-pool resources, and rebalance schedules proactively
  • Monitor overtime, premium-pay utilization, staffing inefficiencies, and recurring timekeeping errors
  • Provide actionable insights to perioperative leadership and Network Operations
  • Execute scheduling-to-pay processes according to HonorHealth policies and standards across campuses
  • Escalate unresolved discrepancies and policy-interpretation questions through defined channels

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma required
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3 years of healthcare scheduling, operations coordination, or perioperative support experience required
  • Experience in perioperative services (OR, PACU, procedural areas) strongly preferred
  • Experience with LaborWorkx, Epic OpTime, or similar systems preferred
  • Ability to work Sunday through Thursday, 11:00am–7:30pm
  • Expected to travel 1–2 days per week to Scottsdale Osborn
  • Hospital scheduling experience highly preferred
