About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure compliance with Honeywell corporate requirements, SBU/SBG programs, and local legislation
  • Conduct thorough incident investigations using methods such as 5-Why, Why Tree, and Tap Root
  • Identify root causes, including systemic causes, and ensure corrective actions prevent recurrence
  • Represent the HPS business within the relevant jurisdiction and cooperate with regional HSE structures and internal customers
  • Maintain and improve the country’s HSE Management System performance and maturity
  • Establish relationships and processes with business managers, site leadership, and regional HSE leaders to achieve HSE goals and objectives
  • Support HSE certification and maintenance activities for ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and related standards
  • Facilitate a culture of safe working by enhancing employees’ and subcontractors’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes
  • Monitor performance and adherence to HPS playbook activities, addressing or escalating deviations
  • Audit Honeywell-managed facilities for statutory and corporate compliance and approved risk-management plans
  • Manage project safety audits and review contractors’ qualifications
  • Provide leadership and oversight for HSE functions, activities, performance, and culture
  • Manage sustainable health and safety programs and maintain leading practices in health and safety standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, such as electrical, chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineering
  • 6+ years of experience in health, safety, and environmental work
  • 1+ year of experience coordinating internal audits and implementing HSE management systems
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to customer sites and projects in the US
  • U.S. Person status required: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or protected status under asylum or refugee status
  • 10+ years of HSE experience valued
  • Safety Professional Certificates such as CSP, ASP, or CIH valued
  • Experience in service, facilities maintenance, or construction industries valued
  • Knowledge and experience with Workers’ Compensation incident case management
  • Strong computer, Microsoft Office, and organizational skills
  • Project Management experience and experience interacting with customers and contractors
  • Knowledge of HOP principles valued
  • Knowledge and experience with incident investigations and reporting, Lockout/Tagout, electrical safety, machinery and equipment safeguarding, emergency response, hand and portable tools, compressed air, ladders and scaffolding, ergonomics, radiation and laser safety, hazardous chemical management, ventilation systems for employee exposure control, potable water management, and bloodborne pathogens
  • Knowledge of HSE management systems, corporate compliance, risk management, safety procedures, and occupational hygiene
