About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Impact the development and delivery of innovative mechanical solutions that enhance the performance and reliability of our products.
  • Build a strong, diverse team by recruiting talent, identifying and developing successors, driving retention and engagement, and fostering an inclusive culture.
  • Report directly to the Engineering Manager and work out of Allentown, PA location on a Hybrid work schedule.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Perform Code and structural pressure vessel calculations per industry standards and customer requirements (e.g., ASME BPVC Section VIII, Div 1-2).
  • Perform FEA per ASME BPVC Section VIII Div 2 Part 5.
  • Design for pressure vessel static and dynamic external loads including wind, seismic, transportation, and blast.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Coordinate design of pressure vessel internal piping, external piping, and supporting structures (including modules and cold boxes) with other engineering disciplines.
  • Generate procedures for inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of pressure vessels.
  • Support technical management of the Port Manatee supply chain via technical qualification and performance management of material and subassembly suppliers.
  • Engage in occasional domestic and international travel to customer engineering offices, and customer natural gas liquefaction facilities.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as mechanical engineering, science, technology, mathematics.
  • 6+ years of experience in pressure vessel design and shop trouble shooting.
  • Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII Div 1 & 2 with ANSYS FEA experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with aftermarket field services
  • Proficiency in COMPRESS software and other design tools like SolidWorks.
  • Experience with engineering PDM system, e.g. Teamcenter.
  • Excellent leadership and analytical skills.
  • Ability to drive results and collaborate across disciplines.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive planning and risk identification.
  • Ability to transform strategic goals into tactical plans.
  • Curiosity, objectivity, and solution-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple major initiatives simultaneously (lead multiple projects, develop multiple manufacturing solutions).
  • Ability to work productively in a self-directed manner with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to conduct RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) to resolve shop or field issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives for better process efficiencies.
  • Ability to develop new analytical methods, procedures, and calculations for peer review and team use.
  • Ability to support new technology development and testing work.
  • Ability to develop technical solutions for customers operating existing assets including debottlenecking, repair plans, and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to travel internationally, leading LNG Aftermarket business field repair teams.
