About the role
- Utilize Hexagon’s Smart 3D CAD applications to create 3D design models, detailed structural design drawings, and modify existing structural designs, including equipment layout and pipe support design.
- Maintain and check Smart 3D models for accuracy, manufacturability, and resolution of interferences.
- Build relationships for knowledge transfer and cross-functional knowledge of related work groups.
- Ensure MDE design and drawing deliverables are clear and understandable for our customers and manufacturing sites.
- Create and check drawings following established Honeywell drafting practices, with a focus on design safety.
- Review customer specifications and align scope of supply during project bidding.
- Act as the lead Structural Designer from conception through project execution.
- Participate in model review meetings with customers and EPCs to ensure compliance with engineering and fabrication standards.
- Occasionally participate in plant visits and international field repair trips as assigned.
Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant structural design experience
- Proficiency in drafting design with CAD and 3D modeling tools.
- Strong understanding of AISC Steel Construction Manual, ASTM standards, AWS welding standards, and other relevant international standards.
- Associate Degree in Mechanical Design Technology/Drafting or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
- Excellent knowledge of Hexagon’s Smart 3D plant design application.
- Familiarity with other CAD applications such as SolidWorks, MicroStation, Revit, Navisworks, or Hexagon’s CADWorx.
- Advanced technical knowledge in design and drafting standards across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Ability to interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Piping design and layout experience is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
