About the role

  • Provide technical expertise and support in the materials and process engineering of cast products.
  • Collaborate across Honeywell Aerospace engineering teams to create solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
  • Participate in all phases of product development and will be a technical point of contact for less experienced engineers.
  • Support for materials and processes involved in the design and manufacture of cast parts.
  • Regular interaction with suppliers to help resolve issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • 4 or more years of experience in materials/process engineering in the casting industry.
  • 4 or more years experience with nickel, aluminum, steel, and/or titanium aerospace cast alloys
  • Bachelor’s Degree with specialization in Materials Science, Material Engineering, Metallurgy, Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Advanced degree in engineering or another related field a plus
  • Understanding and hands-on experience in casting (Investment/sand casting production processes are a plus)
  • Familiarity with industrial materials and processing specifications
  • Familiarity with Nadcap and industry standards, requirements and approvals
  • Capable of assessing new suppliers and determining their strengths and weaknesses
  • Experience with conducting casting supplier audits (investment castings, and sand casting audits are a plus)
  • Working with and developing suppliers
  • Working with Design Engineering
  • Understanding engineering drawings and requirements
  • Experience in Six Sigma, Lean and other process improvement tools
