About the role
- Lead and drive the mechanical design process, from concept to production
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mechanical requirements and specifications
- Design and develop complex mechanical systems, components, and assemblies
- Perform mechanical analysis and simulations to ensure product performance and reliability
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies
- Provide technical expertise as a team lead or member on a variety of projects and programs
- Utilize expert knowledge of engineering discipline and Honeywell standards, processes, and tools to ensure compliance and completion of projects
- Guide and represent the team in design reviews and review technical deliverables including schedule and cost
- Ideate and guide transformational projects to achieve Cost & Schedule
- Build relationships within the organization, customers, and internal stakeholders
- Mentor and train the team to achieve objectives in the design and development of complex mechanical systems and components
- Stay current with emerging technology and actively participate in external forums to represent the organization
- Advise and consult as a technical expert to drive and implement short and long-term projects
- Estimate resource requirements and schedule work to meet completion dates and technical requirements
- Prepare comprehensive proposals and cost estimates, evaluate progress and results, and recommend and direct the implementation of major revisions in approaches
- Champion initiatives to resolve critical processes and technology-related issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 16+ years of experience in mechanical design and development or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in electronics packaging and PBA build processes
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies
- Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools
- Experience with mechanical analysis and simulation tools
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
